A Door of Hope
A Door of Hope is a Christian organization dedicated to licensing Christian families to foster children in Hillsborough, Pasco, Pinellas, Manatee, Sarasota, and Desoto counties. With an average of nine children being removed from their homes every day, and a shortage of foster homes in the Tampa Bay area, there are many children in foster care who end up sleeping on the floor of office buildings, unable to receive a foster home to go to.
A Door of Hope has been able to place 598 children in Christian foster homes in the past year. Talk about providence of God! That's 598 children, who at some point in their lives, would be exposed to the love of Christ and some form of discipleship. A Door of Hope's goal is to license 300 Christian families by 2023 (and they're currently at 199).
