Discipleship is God's corporate plan for making unbelievers into family members of Christ who know and trust in His Gospel, mature in Him, and lead others into this same relationship until He returns. To that end, our mission at Bay Life Church is to bring glory to God by being disciples who make disciples. We fulfill this mission by being worshipers of God, in community with other believers, serving both the church and our community, and sharing the love of God with all those we encounter. Our Core Classes are a great place to focus on something specific for a short time while our Spiritual Growth groups focus on total spiritual growth over a life time.
The Bible presents baptism as an outward sign of faith in Jesus Christ alone for salvation. Christian baptism is an act of obedience to the command of Jesus, declaring the believer’s faith in, and identification with, their crucified, buried, and risen Savior. Baptism is a visible sermon of the gospel of Jesus Christ, identifying the Christian with his death, burial, and resurrection (Matt. 28:19–20; Rom. 6:1–11; 1 Cor. 12:13; Col. 2:12).
Christians are part of a universal church, joined together by faith with believers around the world. But Scripture also commands us to be part of a local church.
At Bay Life, membership is important because it is our pathway to unity. Becoming a church member means you're done "kicking the tires" and you're taking ownership. Our desire is that you would be engaged, inspired, and equipped as we partner together in ministry, and membership propels us into discipleship and unites us in doctrine, values, and mission.
The first step in our membership process is Membership Class...
Jesus told us He came to serve, not to be served. We believe we are to serve the church and the community, as we make the name of Jesus famous. Often, Christians are not sure where they should serve.
A Life of Spiritual Growth:
Life Groups are for every Bay Lifer. At Bay Life, no other program we have replaces the Life Group. This is because Life Groups help us build lifelong friendships that challenge us to grow, and a strong support system that helps make Bay Life a place that feels like home.
Discipleship is at the heart of our mission. Discipleship is a relationship with another believer. In this relationship, a more mature believer partners with a younger believer as they both "imitate Christ" and grow in relationship with Him. Our goal is to be disciples who make disciples who make disciples.
This grouping of classes and seminars is designed to help Christians become more grounded in faith and rooted in the Bible. Believers are encouraged to dive deeper into their faith, understand complex topics within the Scripture, and develop knowledge and compassion regarding how to engage the world in difficult issues.
